Designing a 144-146 VHF TRX for HAMS

I have seen some circuits in the internet and got an idea to make a efficient VHF TRX for hams, so working on that, it may take a more time as i am having little knowledge and have to improve a lot in the RF field where i am feared of coil winding.

Completed RX Stage of HMY2K8

Successfully complted the RX stage of HMY2K8 with help OM Dr.Rajasekhar, and still i am aligning for the best results and to recieve DX stations. Hope i will get a very good quality.

The RX Stage is quite simple first the audio amplifier is to be completed and to be checked whether it is working or not a simple test like giving any auido input to the 6th pin of LM380 your speaker should shout with the amplified output, keeping this amplifier working next stage is IC2, complete all the circuitaey which needs to run the IC and then just put your antenna pin to the 1st pin of IC2(product detector) soon you should recieve some wideband of stations, with this test you are ready with your product detector next step is with the mixer IC1...will update soon

Interface Unit for HAM Radio Equipment and Computer

Firstly i heart fully thank Rahul Srivastava, VU3WJM, who built this circuit, i just completed this project and i want to give some help to the HAMS who want to build this.


This is a circuit which can be built very easily with the easily available components in VU land and nothing is critical in this design. 
 

This unit supports so many modes like PSK31, MFSK16, MT16, Hellschriber, SSTV, RTTY,AMTOR, PACTOR, PACKET, CW and over the net Echolink and Echostation.

a great care is to be taken while we solder this circuit as this is very delicate one. See the main main contacts where positive and negative and some crucial components should not be short circuited, also the performance of the rig purely depends on the best quality components used.

Learning many things

hmmm... these days i am learning many more things in electronics due to the project HMY2K8 it is gaining me more and more technical skills and also i am applying some of my own techniques. This is a bit hard but it does be so if we think of the fruitful result after completion of this project.

really lucky as i got a multi function frequency counter as a gift from Prof.G.Harinath Reddy my sir, i came like a boon and completed the work on which i was struggling. It is a really useful tool at my shack.

this is a day i worried so much (never faced a situation in my life)

i was really shocked for a while and have known that by mistake i have deleted one of the most valuable partition of my hard drive, actually i have installed a new 500GB Hard drive into my station and i was doing some maintenance in the mean while i forgot the top priority drive because of the volume name changed and i deleted all the partitions on the old drive later i came to know that i have lost the most valuable data that i have been safeguarding since 7years, i thought from tomorrow i will be handicapped but due to gods grace or some magic i gained the conscious and got back to tactical work and started to recover the data with my experience and it worked well and now my data is back into my station and my stations now with its full levels up...

really happy with this i was selected in the first interview itself

today i attended a walk in and have gone through it and was selected this was my first interview, happy for getting selected for the first attempt it self. hope all the wishes of my well wishers and friends worked out here.

by today i got some confidence on me so that i can start a new life and the change is very appreciative as i expected, generally i always thought what ever we think that doesnt happen but the thing is the things we also happens, and really happy for this drastic change.

the sad thing happened today is hearing the sumanth(super) got injured by jumping from the 1st floor, have felt very sad. the situation said me we should not fear of anything, i felt that if he could dare to face instead of his dareness to jump.

a nice unforgettable travel in my life

yesterday i travelled from nellore to anantapur to go to my university and get the provisional certificate, it was a 8hours journey and due to the bus breakdown it took 10hours to reach the destination, but it was that much excellent journey that i cant forget in my life. i didn't know when the time has passed i enjoyed each and every second...

this birtday was the best one in my life

today is my birthday and this was the really great one as my brother called me exactly at 12.00am and he was the first one to wish me which is is a damn sentiment to me, later the friend i expected called me and wished me later many of my juniors from different branches called me and wished me many sent messages, in the morning for the first time my father told me happy birthday cant forget this situation as for every birthday i was before him never wished me as i am near, but this time i am sure he is missing me, later my mom called me and wished me, many of my dear friends followed this later one of my best friend planned to go to golkonda and i agreed to that and that made the day so joyful we went all over to golkonda and 7 tombs famous place in hyderabad. i can say i enjoyed to the peak. hope the happiness remain unaltered. all of you bless me.

life is a game where we cant expect the winning or loosing

in my far experience of my life i have learnt that life is game where the winning or loosing is not expected because it is not the conventional game where our confidence or the skill in the game makes the difference but it is the fate and also the skill which makes the difference of life, i have seen many changes that a man comes over the things and the environment. basically i believed if a man is committed to certain things and promises he will keep up them till his death but i have learnt that my imagination is purely wrong. even the best friends cant not only in my life i have seen many of the best friendships like my brothers friends my fathers friends and many others where there is a mere selfishness not a real friendship even my fathers elder brother failed to keep up his friendship which i believed to be the best one. coming to my own experience i have shocked but not changed my self because of others change in behavior just for the some idiotic things and temporary lust. finally completely lost the faith in the word friendship. everything is just business pakka business nothing more and never thought that i would give such a meaning to the word friendship because of the thing i have seen recently, i never want to reveal the names or some thing else but this is written here for just relief of my own but on an average all the friendships are like that. the great example is my mobile became silent when i came out of my college, when i was in the college daily i got more than 1000 calls per-day asking me many favours or for my help in various academic and extra activities, but the day college completed it was shocking i didn't get even a single call from so called class mates or juniors who came around me when i was in the college, this shows that a person is a hero when he have some thing special, so i came to know that my specialty disappeared when the college gate has been closed for me so finally i decided to be unique and not waiting for others who never waited for me i have my own life my oen identity to be created so why wasting time thinking about others. you guys who read this think for a while about our surroundings dont ever believe anyone...

this is a really memorable day i and all my friends had a really pleasant day in Hyderabad seen many things in hyderabad, i was not so excited as already hyd is more familiar to me but i was really happy seeing their excitement seeing the things in hyderabad.

The expected disaster

This is a most saddest event occurred in srikalahasthi, the rajagopuram have been collapsed, the following is the field work done by me there taking a lot of risk between the rushing people and the police men and civilians at work even in that hefty rush i was able to take some photographs, whoose quality is bit low due to the lighting and some physical situation. I wantedly went there and captured these pics

got my final year btech results

after seeing my results for 2sec i was at the top of the sky, though it may be less marks compared to toppers but for me it is an achievement. got 78% and secured 50/50 in mini project and 200/200 marks in main project which is the topmark.

the main thing in my project is... it is a own project done in my home it self in my miniature lab. as all are started buying project i decided to do own project, which brought me here.


i dedicate my result to my parents, my loving brother, my uncle prabhakar, my HOD Prof.T.N.V.L.N.Kumar, my new guru in electronics DR. VU2HMY, and all my dear friends without the help of all these people i would have not got this.


coming to the project work i specially thanq my mother who helped me in assembling my project circuit by holding and assting by giving proper components when i was assembling continoulsy encouraging me towards what i think. she is the real god for me my best friend.

our hod sir have made a really valuable contribution by monitoring me continously during the project and standing near me while testing even in his busy schedules.

i thank my friend saran who helped my by encoraging my ideas in my course of B.Tech.

we cant know time it is really great. HAPPY/SAD

finally after a long struggle i was able to modify the frequency of my VHF handy using diode matrix programming for IC-TC9122P, and made different freq for different channels and was able to copy VU2HMY, but was not able to transmit, later removed a resistor which makes the circuit only receive, after some time i lost both TX/RX, unable to find the fault really mood out, first happy and then really more sad.

today i have build a home made whip antenna using a BNC connector and a normal whip antenna. it is working fine for me waiting for my signal reports from VU2HMY

after a lot of work first ichanged the freq to 145.000 later on by BCD programming changed it to 145.275 but eagerly waiting to make it 145.500 and more desired frequencies

A unexpected thing happened

this is really unforgettable i was unable to see the person so sad this day and sadly the was ended. but a call suddenly gave me a shock after seeing this i can remember the shock

A Great work and modding ICOM IC-H6 VHF handy

today i did a great work and research on the above said handy it was a bit difficult as it a very old logic but i have strongly determined to modify its operating frequency which when asked others have no proper solution. i and VU2HMY studied but in vain sir told he cant guide me further. later with a hard zeal and determination to modify it i have studied many things about PLL and other dividers and finally found the way to modify it. also waiting for some more info from VU3VTK. finally i am at 99% of this modding project.

got HMY2K8 PCBs

really happy that i got hmy2k8 circuit pcbs as a compliment from Dr.Rajasekhar designer of hmy2k8 transceiver. so i am really happy just had a keen look over the pcbs kit today and will slowly start assembly step by step.

From today i am an ENGINEER

today i have completed my final year exams from today i am a graduate in electrical and electronics engineering. really these four years went on like passing clouds don't know when i have joined and so soon completed the course unable leave the college but it is must.

organised a HAM RADIO deonstration from ELITE

yesterday i have organized a HAM RADIO demonstration on behalf of the first anniversary of ELITE ASSOCIATION in priyadarshini college of engineering and Technology. Dr.Rajasekhar a popular HAM operator and designer of HMY2K8 had given a demo on HAM RADIO and said many things regarding HAM RADIO and its importance during natural calamities and being part of disaster management. learned many thing from his seminar. Finally i succeeded in organizing such an event as my last event during my tenure in the college and this association ELITE.

got a 2M VHF set from VU2BKW

VU2BKW is a very good friend of mine i actually saw the first HF rig because of him. he was my first guru for this amateur radio operation he inspired me more and he gave me a ICOM-IC735 commercial HF rig to start my journey in this amateur communication world. now he gave me a RC 560 2M handy which he is not using. i have taken that and as it was having some problem rectified it and started using it and communicated with VU2HMY for the first time in VHF handy and he also felt very happy listening from me and we both tested our signals as he brought a new WOUXUN KG-UVD1P VHF handy.
